Annual General Meeting

Dear Residents/Shareholders

Invitation to LEMB Annual General Meeting – 18 OCTOBER 2018

It is the time of the year to have our Annual General Meeting (AGM).

It is a great pleasure to invite you to Loughborough Estate Management Board (LEMB) Annual General Meeting (the ‘Meeting’ or ‘AGM’) for 2018. The meeting will be held on Thursday 18 October 2018 at 7 pm at “The Loughborough Centre”, 105 Angell Road, SW9 7PD. Corner of Barrington Road, London

Agenda of the meeting is noted below.

LEMB will be electing new Board Members in line with our Modular Management Agreement (MMA) among shareholders. Please note that you must be 16 years old to be a shareholder. No one can become a Board member if they:

  • are less than 18 years old
  • are disqualified from acting as a director of the company for any reason
  • have been convicted of an indictable offence
  • are more than 8 weeks of rent arrears
  • are more than 2 months service charge arrears
  • are subject to a possession order or in breach of a suspended possession order
  • cease to be a member of the Society
  • become bankrupt
  • have resigned from the board

Only shareholders can nominate persons to stand for election to the management committee. In line with our current rules, Nomination forms must be obtained from the housing office. The forms must have been received back in the housing office by 11 October 2018 which is 7 days before the day of the AGM. All forms must be sent to Sade Adedotun, Neighbourhood Services Director, LEMB, 10 Featley Road, London SW9 7LJ.

If elected, you must show commitment and willingness to learn and attend training sessions as and when required for the benefit of the organisation and the residents. You will also be required to attend meetings which may involve travelling out of London, community events and seminars. Knowledge gained and the satisfaction of helping to shape where you live into a better place is a key benefit.

The business of the Meeting will deal with the standard matters considered at the AGM.

Your vote is important to us and you can vote by:

i)  Attending and voting at the AGM. Only shareholders are entitled to vote at the AGM. To register as a shareholder, you can buy a share at the Loughborough Estate Housing Office for 50p. This must be done within a minimum of 3 working days before the AGM to be eligible to vote at the meeting.

The Loughborough Estate Management Board Committee Members and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the meeting. We thank you for your continued support and commitment to your estate.

Yours sincerely

Peter Shorinwa
Chair LEMB
